The South Shore Pride Social Group evolved from a group of gay men who began to meet for various social activities. One of these activities led four men to link up with a gay group at a coffee house in Wolfville and soon after, in 1997 , a dance was held in a Pleasant River school house with thirty people in attendance on a snowy winter's night. In January, 1998, the South Shore Pride Social Group was born at a meeting in the Second Storey Women's Centre in Bridgewater. Two dances were held in that year in Pleasant River but we have since expanded to monthly dances in the Wileville Fire Hall , which is larger and closer for most people. Guests arrive from several Valley towns and from all over the South Shore and even beyond.
SOUTH SHORE PRIDE, a social group for gay, lesbian, transgendered, two-spirited and bi-sexual persons living on the South Shore and visitors from anywhere.
All are welcome to present suggestions for social events and gatherings . We rely on you to help us expand our interests and become a more welcoming group.
